Kiosk Cleanup - Temporary Urbanism Volunteer Event


Are you interested in lending a hand in improving DC’s streetscape? Join us with with DC Office of Planning, the Capital City Fellows, and Affinity Lab to transform a vacant space located on H street to a Digital Arts Lab that will be part of Digital Capital Week. The kiosk will act as a temporary hub for festival attendees and the community to incubate ideas and launch projects. We are looking for 10-12 volunteers for this event.
DC’s Temporary Urbanism initiative, organized by DC Office of Planning, supports the transformation of vacant spaces into creative places. This kiosk will be one of many being explored to instill creative functions within the structure's urban life cycle.

Location: 1300 H Street NE (Corner of 13th Street NE and H Street NE).
Date/Time: Saturday, May 22nd from 10:00am-2:00pm
Activities: Main activities will include painting, gardening/landscaping, general interior cleaning & basic repairs. Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. All supplies will be provided.

Donate Supplies: If you have extra supplies and interested in donating them towards this volunteer event, please contact Joe (jaf@afh-dc.org). The following is a listing of supplies that will be needed:

Housing cleaning supplies, fluorescent or LED bulbs, clean paint rollers/brushes and/or carpet tiles.
